Man & Woman of the Year candidates selected

The 2015 class for the Savannah Man & Woman of the Year campaign has been chosen for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and candidates were presented at the campaign kickoff on Thursday.

Twelve community and business leaders are vying for the title the organization’s third annual campaign year. In the Man & Woman of the Year campaign, candidates compete in honor of local children who are blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year, and try to raise as much money as possible for the society.

The 2015 Savannah Man & Woman of the Year class includes the following:

Matthew Allan, Keller Williams Realty; Suzanne Anderson, Chatham Hospitalists; KC Andrews, Rountree Brady Allstate Agency; Jacques Beauchamp, Spine & Sport; Cynthia Creighton-Jones, Cape Creations Catering; Ryan Fulchi, Habersham Dental Center; Brad Gibson, Capital A Productions; Emily Hall, TMX Finance; Kacey Kennickell, The Kennickell Group; Patrick McCarthy, Rabey Electric Co.; Jenna Raynor, Nova Medical Centers; Jessica Thomas, Memorial Health.

Summer learning program adds high school

Horizons Savannah, a summer learning program that serves more than 150 low-income students each summer, has announce it will launch a high school segment this summer, which will be a year-round, pre-college program.

The high school program will maintain contact with each Horizons graduating class to provide guidance for students in making decisions about their future.

As part of the high school program, Horizons Savannah is looking for businesses that will allow a student to spend a few hours a day with a professional working in the student’s career interest area.

Early Autism Project opens first Georgia clinic in Pooler

Early Autism Project (EAP) has announced it is accepting clients for its clinic at 130 Canal Street in Pooler.

EAP serves children and young adults between the ages of 20 months and 21 years with autism spectrum and related disorders.

Holly Brant, a board certified assistant behavior analyst, has been named clinic director. She also serves as a clinic supervisor and regional coordinator for EAP.
