Tribble to retire as Bethesda Academy president
David Tribble, the longtime president of Bethesda Academy, has announced he will retire after the 2015-16 school year.
Tribble, who will finish 25 years as the academy’s leader, announced his decision at the organization’s board of directors meeting on March 4. His retirement will coincide with the conclusion of the 275th anniversary of Bethesda’s founding.
Board Chairman Mills Fleming wrote in the Bethesda newsletter that board leaders had known Tribble was contemplating retirement.
“And while we support his decision, we do so with regret given his inspired leadership and his constant care and concern for the young men of Bethesda,” Fleming wrote. “There have been many accomplishments during David’s tenure, and all of us share in the unprecedented progress that we have witnessed at Bethesda during his 25 years.”
Fleming said the board has begun to craft a search process for Tribble’s successor.
