Seminar set on ‘location isn’t everything’
The Savannah Small Business Development Center will present “Location Isn’t Everything” from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at the Small Business Resource Center, 111 E. Liberty St.
The class is for existing and new business owners who are looking for a location to lease or purchase. Topics will include lease legalities, site selection, rent calculations, negotiations, additional costs that may be incurred, potential landlord contributions and zoning.
Resources for demographic research and other local assets will be introduced and demonstrated. Also included will be:
• Advice from SBDC business consultant Becky Brownlee
• Business approval process walk-through by Cristy Lawrence and Aislee Jackson, city of Savannah
• Appropriate legal structures for your business and lease legalities with attorney Daniel Crook

Parker’s offers new discount card
Parker’s convenience stores are offering a new Cash Card that will reduce the retail prices of gasoline by as much as 10 cents a gallon.
“Our customers asked for a Cash Card, and we listened. That’s why we’re offering another way to save money,” said Greg Parker, company president and CEO.
The Parker’s Cash Card offers the same discounts as the company’s PumpPal Card but doesn’t require linking to a bank account or a checking account and are available at any Parker’s location.

Memorial Health honored for endoscopy quality, safety
The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), a gastrointestinal medical society, has recognized Memorial University Medical Center as part of its program of promoting quality in endoscopy settings throughout the United States.
To earn the recognition, Memorial had to meet the program’s rigorous criteria, which examined quality, infection control and the skill of the staff, among other things.
“We are proud of the clinical team for their commitment to excellence,” said Karen Boyer, Memorial’s vice president for patient care services.
Website offers ‘intuitive’ tour of Savannah
FlipKey.com, a TripAdvisor company, has launched a new intuitive, interactive guide to Savannah that it says will allow travelers to experience the city before they actually visit.
