Average retail gasoline prices in Savannah have risen 1 cent a gallon in the past week to $2.26 a gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 262 gas outlets in Savannah.
The national average has increased half a cent a gallon in the last week to $2.39, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Prices Sunday in Savannah were $1.31.5 cents a gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 5.1 cents a gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 4.9 cents a gallon during the last month and stands $1.24.6 cents a gallon lower than a year ago.
GasBuddy last week forecast that summertime gasoline prices would be at their lowest since 2005, and senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan said this is the first time since 2005 that we’ve seen such low gasoline prices combined with a strong economy.
