Richmond Hill manufacturer recruiting workers

Caesarstone Technology is looking for more than 80 workers for its new plant set to open next month in Richmond Hill. The company manufactures quartz surfaces for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities and counters.

Recruiting and interviews will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at the Richmond Hill City Center, 520 Cedar St.

The company is recruiting delivery coordinators, electricians, engineering project managers, feed-system and filter-press operators, mechanics, mold and polish operators, forklift drivers, quality controllers and human resources personnel.

They also need production administrators and workers in finished goods, pigment preparation, raw and supplies materials and work-in-progress.

Applicants must be at least 18 and should bring resumes and be prepared to interview.

Workshop to discuss conflict solutions

The April business workshop hosted by SCORE will focus on using conflict to your advantage.

The presentation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the SCORE conference room, 111 E. Liberty St. Savannah. Jill Cheeks, managing partner of The Meaning Company, will be the guest speaker.

Cheeks’ professional experience includes management consulting with Accenture and the founding of three successful small-business ventures. She is a certified coach and a registered mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.

Parker’s opens store in Metter

Savannah-based Parker’s convenience stores recently opened a new retail store at the Interstate 16 exit in Metter

“We’re had numerous customer requests to open a Parker’s at this particular location,” said Greg Parker, company president and CEO. “Area residents wanted more competitive pricing at the Metter exit.”

The new store — the company’s second outlet in Metter — is open 24 hours and has 3,200 square feet of retail space and 10 fueling positions, including diesel.

Parker’s operates 37 convenience stores across the region and employs nearly 500 people throughout Georgia and South Carolina. The company completes more than 80,000 transactions daily.
