Eco-friendly lawn-care company opens

Green Revolution Lawn Maintenance, a large-scale lawn-care company, has opened to serve residential and commercial clients using machinery that produces zero emissions and 50 percent less noise than its traditional counterparts, according to owner Tim Warren.

Power is generated by lithium ion batteries that are charged using a customized solar system, Warren said.

Commercial-grade equipment includes 42-inch zero-turn mowers as well as stainless-steel hedge trimmers, string trimmers for weed eating, blowers for clearing yard debris, pole saws for pruning and chainsaws for heavier-duty maintenance.

Pricing is comparable to conventional lawn services, Warren said, because although the equipment is more expensive, supplies such as gas and oil are not required.

“It’s a misconception that it always costs more to be environmentally-conscious,“ he said. “That isn’t the case here.”

Home builders recognize mortgage office

Veterans United Home Loans in Savannah has been named the 2014 Mortgage Team Originator of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Greater Savannah.

The award was announced at the HBA’s 11th Annual Summit Awards on March 26.

The Home Builders Association collects submissions each year to determine top mortgage originators. Winners are selected based on their closing numbers and volume for the previous year.

“Being named the mortgage origination team of the year makes us very proud of the job we do as loan officers for all of our clients, especially those who have served in the United States Military,” said branch manager Shawn Workman.
