Savannah hosted a three-day conference for the managers of the state’s welcome centers this week. The centers, situated along interstates near Georgia’s borders, feature information about Georgia attractions for travelers passing through the state.
The meetings attracted approximately 50 managers from Georgia's nine welcome centers. Visit Savannah, the local equivalent of a convention and visitors bureau, used the opportunity to update attendees on Savannah’s attractions. Mayor Edna Jackson was among those who spoke to the welcome center managers.
