Greenville Shriners Hospital treating patients in Bluffton

Bluffton, S.C. — Shriners Hospitals for Children — Greenville has established its first satellite location to serve patients in the Lowcountry and surrounding areas.

In making the announcement, the hospital said the increased demand for pediatric orthopaedic care stems from the almost 200 current patients who live in the region from Charleston to Savannah.

Hospital officials said they have recognized the need for a physician to offer services locally, including post-op visits, wound checks, new patient consultations and follow up appointments.

Services such as surgeries, access to Motion Analysis Lab diagnoses and the benefits of the low-dose radiation EOS Imaging System will remain at the hospital in Greenville, S.C. The hospital treats patients with a wide range of orthopaedic and neuromuscular conditions from an area of six states including Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee regardless of the family’s ability to pay.

The hospital will host an open house at 2 p.m. Friday, May 8, at the clinic at 7 Arley Way in Bluffton.
