Metro Savannah gas prices at $2.49 a gallon

Average retail gasoline prices in Savannah have risen 2.2 cents a gallon in the past week to $2.49 a gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 262 gas outlets in Savannah.

The national average has increased 4.0 cents a gallon in the last week to $2.66, says gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Gas prices in Savannah as of Sunday were $1.11.8 cents a gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 23.3 cents a gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 26.9 cents a gallon during the last month and stands 99.4 cents lower than this day one year ago.

“The rapid rise we’ve seen in the national average over the last several weeks appears to be slowing,” said Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy senior petroleum analyst.

Bluffton firm honored for app development

BLUFFTON, S.C. — The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts has awarded Bluffton-based Jester Communications the Award of Excellence in the Mobile Apps for Business category for the development of the Mercury Product Knowledge Dealer Support Application.

BEAUFORT, S.C. — The Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced the graduates of the Leadership Beaufort Class of 2015 and encourages others to apply for the upcoming Class of 2016.
