ASF Intermodal exceeds 400 trucks on the road

ASF Intermodal, an Alabama-based logistics company with a terminal in Savannah, has announced that the company has surpassed the 400-truck benchmark.

In four years ASF Intermodal has grown from a two-location firm into a regional carrier with 80 employees offering with 11 terminals throughout the Southeast and Midwest.

“The growth we’re experiencing is positive in every way,” said Michael Smith, the firm’s president. “We are continuing to create jobs and grow our customer base. We are experiencing growth across all of our existing locations, and we are planning to expand into other markets in the second half of 2015.”

Smith said he attributes the firm’s recent growth, in part, to the recent shift in container volume from West Coast ports to the East Coast.

“This shift has led to more freight coming to the East Coast, which has, in turn, led to more demand for our services,” he said.
