Savannah nurse named to national committee
THA Group palliation specialist Jon Cohen has been named to the newly created Situational Judgment Exercise Development Committee formed by the National Board for Certification of Hospice and Palliative Nurse. Cohen is one of a handful of hospice-certified nurses nationwide to receive this appointment.
Local engineer honored
The Savannah-area professional engineering community recognized Carol H. Abercrombie, a civil engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District for her notable contributions to water resource projects in Coastal Georgia.
Abercrombie received the 2013 “James Connolly Award” during the Savannah E-Week Technical Training Conference at Armstrong Atlantic State University, Feb. 19.

CASA names advocate of the year
Savannah/Chatham CASA has named Gwendolyn Dozier as the winner of the 2013 Nadine Goldwire CASA Volunteer of the Year Award. Dozier, a 12-year CASA volunteer, was cited for a steadfast and compassionate approach with children and families.
