SCORE, Wells Fargo to sponsor 'state of small business' conference

SCORE and Wells Fargo will be the title sponsors on Wednesday, June 24, to present ‘The State of Small Business’ from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center.

Reports will be issued by 10 area experts who will have three minutes each to present their information on measurable benchmarks relating to Savannah’s small business community.

Speakers and panel discussion members will include:

• Michael Toma, director of the Center for Regional Analysis at Armstrong Atlantic State University.

Topic: Small Business Snapshot

• Marshall Tuck, corporate small business officer at Gulfstream Aerospace.

Topic: Gulfstream Aerospace and Small Businesses

• Brian Davis, manager of the Savannah Career Center at the Department of Labor.

Topic: Local Labor Statistics

• Kyle Hensel, area director of the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center in Savannah.

Topic: Securing Funding with Small Business Counseling

• Tony O’Reilly, president of the Small Business Assistance Corporation.

Topic: Small Business Access to Capital in the Savannah Region

• Rhett Mouchet, Judge Realty.

Topic: Commercial Real Estate Trends

• Bea Wray, executive director at The Creative Coast.

Topic: High Tech Start-ups

• Cindy Landolt, revenue director with the city of Savannah.

Topic: Local growth

• Cristy Lawrence, development services liaison, city of Savannah.

Topic: Local growth

• Susanne Toney, assistant professor of economics at the College of Business at Savannah State University.

Topic: Economic indicators

The conference, which is free, is a yearly event at which small business owners can get a measurement of local economic numbers. Lunch will be served after the presentations. To reserve a seat RSVP to SCORE at 912-652-4335.
