Golfing for a Cure raises money for cancer programs

The 11th Landings Women’s Golf Association “Golfing for a Cure” event raised $60,248 for the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center.

The money will support three institute programs.

Since 2004, the women’s golf association has raised more than $667,000 for the institute to help fund research, a summer scholars program for medical students and equipment.

Established in 1974, the association has just under 500 members and is the largest, club-based, amateur women’s golf organization in the United States.

Memorial University Medical Center is a two-state healthcare organization that serves a 35-county area in southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina.
