2013 Generation Next: Savannah's Rising Stars of Business

Twenty-one up-and-coming businesspeople and civic leaders were recognized Wednesday night as winners in the 2013 competition for Generation Next: Rising Stars of Savannah Business.

The winners, all younger than 40, were honored for their success early in their careers, as well as their civic and philanthropic contributions to the community.

The reception at Vic’s on the River, 26 E. Bay St., was sponsored by Savannah Magazine, Business in Savannah (BiS), The Coastal Bank and Mercer University’s Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics.

“We were pleased to see the quality of the winners continues to be impressive in the third year of the rising star awards,” said BiS editor Gale Baldwin. “The business and civic future of Savannah is in good hands.”

The winners are:

• Matthew J. Allen, DDS, owner/dentist at Godley Station Dental.

• Harley Ashbaugh, owner, AWD Savannah.

• Todd M. Baiad, attorney/partner with Bouhan, Williams & Levy.

• Ryan Chandler, vice president, business development, Colonial Oil.

• Robert Houstoun Demere III, vice president, Enmark Stations.

• Patton Dugas, vice president and commercial relationship manager, The Coastal Bank.

• Ayana Eady-Patterson, director of HIV services at Union Mission, director of Phoenix Project.

• Bradley M. Harmon, attorney and partner at HunterMaclean.

• Lindsay Fruchtl, marketing director, Tybee Island Tourism Council.

• Karen Black Jenkins, executive director, Savannah Tree Foundation.

• Tony and DaVena Jordan, founders and executive directors, All Walks of Life Inc.

• Josh Keller, vice president, Cellular Sales.

• Amanda Love, attorney, The Bowman Law Office.

• Kal Patel, president and CEO, Image Hotels.

• Patrick Page, vice president, Page International Inc. and Kearney Page Warehouse Services.

• Matthew Stroud, vice president, private banker, Wells Fargo The Private Bank.

• Bree Thomas, owner, Fab’rik Savannah.

• Leigh Thomson, principal, LETR & Co./Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of Graphic Design at Georgia Southern University.
