Local gas prices fell last week

Average retail gasoline prices in Savannah fell 6.1 cents a gallon over the past week to $3.63 a gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 262 gas outlets in Savannah.

The national average fell 3.2 cents a gallon in the last week to $3.66, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Prices Sunday were 7.2 cents a gallon lower than the same day one year ago and 12.6 cents a gallon higher than a month ago.

The national average has increased 10.2 cents a gallon during the last month and stands 8.8 cents lower than a year ago.

GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan cautioned motorists to keep an eye on prices.

“Refineries will be continuing their switch over to cleaner burning gasoline, and there certainly is the possibility that one mishap could send prices racing higher, much to the disappointment of motorists nationwide,” DeHaan said.
