Gas prices ease upward in Savannah
Average retail gasoline prices in Savannah rose 4.3 cents a gallon in the past week to $3.32 a gallon on Sunday.
The national average fell 4.8 cents a gallon to $3.34, according to gasoline price website SavannahGasPrices.com.
Prices Sunday were 14.3 cents a gallon higher than one year ago and 13.1 cents a gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has decreased 12.2 cents a gallon during the last month and stands 5.5 cents higher than a year ago.
“Last week, the Energy Information Administration reported one of the largest single week increases in gasoline inventories in my recent memory, which will likely contribute downward pressure to wholesale gasoline prices in the days and perhaps weeks ahead,” said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.

Savannah wins two meetings industry awards
GULF SHORES, Ala. — Visit Savannah, the city’s tourism promotion agency, and the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center both received 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards in November from ConventionSouth magazine.
The value of the awards is that they come from top meeting professionals and event planners from across the country who book meeting destinations within the South for their events and have determined the CVB and the convention center display “the commitment to professionalism, creativity and service that they require,” said ConventionSouth editor Marlane Bundock.
The CVB and the convention center are among 100 tourism bureaus and meeting sites across the South to receive this year’s Readers’ Choice Award and two of nine within the state of Georgia.
