This week in BiS:
• Keith Follis and his wife, Casey, have operated Mr. Kleen for about four years on Tybee Island. He had started doing his research for the business in the middle of 2008, just “before everything started to crash in the economy.”
• Mike Jaeger touts Savannah Wine Cellar as a different kind of wine store where he and his staff are all about having fun while teaching people about wines.
• Attorney Wade Herring II reminds workers that Georgia employers have no legal obligation to offer or grant separation pay to an employee who is leaving the company, whether voluntarily or involuntarily.
• Estate planners Michael Smith and Richard Barid offer thoughts on ways you can save on your income taxes through a variety of techniques that delay or defer having to pay taxes.
• Economist Kenneth Zapp asks why some pundits wish to remove help to our lowest-paid workers in a way that has little or no negative impact on our economy while saying nothing about bankers who have never been brought to justice for actions that caused the financial crisis.
