First quarter 2013 enplanements — or boardings — at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport were up 3 percent over the same period last year, the airport reported Wednesday.
Year-to-date enplanements totaled 175,990 compared to last year’s first quarter figure of 170,920.
Arrivals — or deplanements — were up also, 179,477 to 172,230.
Savannah/Hilton Head International served 1.6 million passengers in 2012.
Of airlines serving the airport in the first quarter, Delta Airlines had the largest market share at 50 percent. US Airways had 29 percent, United 15 percent and American 6 percent.
The airport finished out the quarter with a 75 percent load factor, an increase of 5 percent over the same period in 2012. Basically, a passenger load factor measures the percentage of available seats that are filled.
