Career fairs set at Goodwill centers

Goodwill of the Coastal Empire will hold career fairs at six Job Connection Career Centers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday to give local residents a chance to find out about training resources and job opportunities within the community.

Goodwill career fair locations will include West Broad Street YMCA, Richmond Hill, Statesboro, Brunswick, Lyons and Waycross.

Jewelry store makes donations for Mother’s Day

Harkleroad Diamonds & Fine Jewelry, 7300 Abercorn St., will celebrate Mother’s Day by donating a portion of sales May 10-11 to the Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center.

The store will feature a SLANE trunk show, a Sylvie trunk show, entertainment, refreshments and a drawing for a Sylvie engagement ring setting.

Owners Marion and Jenna Harkleroad support the Children’s Hospital from personal experience. Their son, Gray, was born two months prematurely on June 30, 2011, and spent a month in the facility’s neonatal intensive care unit.

Savannah firm forms health records partnership

Healthpac Computer Systems Inc, 1010 Victory Drive, a national developer of medical billing software based in Savannah and simplifyMD EHR, based in Atlanta, have announced a partnership to benefit health care providers.

Healthpac’s bidirectional interface with simplifyMD EHR will streamline operational workflow, lower operating costs and increase revenue without disruption to the medical practice.

Buddy Claborn, CEO of Healthpac, said simplifyMD understands the stress and complexity physicians can encounter when buying and deploying traditional electronic health records systems.

Small business group to co-sponsor seminars

The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center is co-sponsoring the Savvy Small Business Seminar Series schedule by Hancock Askew & Co. LLP.

The next seminar, “Income Statement vs. Cash Flow Statement,” will be held on from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday. It’s free and will be taught by Hancock Askew Partner Neville Stein at the offices of Hancock Askew & Co. LLP at 100 Riverview Drive.
