The Savannah Morning News and savannahnow.com will present a free seminar on Wednesday, May 22, featuring industry experts from Google; email marketing giant Constant Contact; reputation management leaders Vend Asta; and digital marketing innovators Engine 212.
Attendees will learn to how to leverage leading edge digital techniques to build local business strategies.
The seminar is free and will be held in the Savannah Morning News auditorium, 1375 Chatham Parkway.
Two seminars will be offered – one from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and an afternoon session from 2 to 5 p.m.

Grand opening this week for new clinic
Spine & Sport will celebrate the grand opening of its new Pooler location on Friday, May 10. U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston, R-Savannah, will deliver opening remarks at the ribbon cutting at 4:15 p.m.
An open house is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with tours of the facility in the Canal Street Plaza at 123 Canal St., Suite 2013. Refreshments and access to the clinic’s clinicians are included.
The new clinic is the company’s sixth. Spine & Sport also has launched a new branch of their service line. House Calls will be available in the Savannah area to Medicare Part B patients.

Transport company buys regional carrier
Wisconsin-based Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc. has bought Wando Trucking Charleston, S.C., and Adrian Carriers of Milan, Ill.
Wando primarily transports imports and exports, including raw rubber, building materials, paper and plastics from the ports of Charleston and Savannah. The purchase price was approximately $9.0 million.
Brian van Helden, president of Roadrunner’s Truckload and Logistics business segment, said, “The Wando acquisition enhances the scale of our intermodal services in the Southeast and provides better access to the ports of Charleston and Savannah.”
Roadrunner bought Adrian Carriers for $14.2 million. Adrian manages the transportation of containerized import and export freight throughout the United States.
Statesboro hospital places on honor roll
East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro has been named to the Georgia Hospital Association’s Partnership for Health and Accountability Core Measures Honor Roll.
The medical center is one of 27 hospitals in Georgia to be placed in the trustee category, one of the highest on the list. The honor roll is based on clinical data provided by the federal Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services, which administers the nation’s Medicare and Medicaid programs. The data was collected from October 2011 to September 2012.
