State of small business report coming
Savannah SCORE will present “The State of Small Business” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 30 during a free conference in the community room on the lower level of the Savannah Mall.
Reports will be issued by 13 area experts who will have three minutes each to present their information on measurable benchmarks relating to the Savannah-area small business community.
The State of Small Business is expected to become an annual event where small business owners can get a true measurement of local economic numbers.
Savannah Morning News columnist Bill Dawers will moderate the panel and lead the question-and-answer session at the end of the presentations.

Free medical care for pantry clients on Tybee
Urgent Care 24/7 on Tybee Island will offer free primary care services to Tybee’s Rising Tyde Community Food Pantry recipients every third Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to coincide with its monthly day of dispersing food.
“All the participants have to do is show up with verification that they qualify for Tybee Island’s Rising Tyde Community Food Pantry assistance, and we will provide them with ongoing, free primary care every third Tuesday during our regular clinic hours,” said Dr. Jerry Williams, founder and owner of Urgent Care 24/7 and Primary Healthcare Plan.

Seminar for would-be home buyers set
A free seminar designed for potential home buyers will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Rice Hope Clubhouse, 227 Dogwood Circle, in Port Wentworth.
Associate broker Carletha Frazier Singleton will host the seminar in collaboration with D.R. Horton.
Featured topics will include a discussion of the Home Buyer Club, a program developed for buyers who have less than perfect credit; eight steps toward buying a home; fears and facts of home ownership; advantages of buying versus renting and seven roles of your Realtor.

Hotel to host school’s end-of-year showcase
The SpringHill Suites by Marriott at 150 Montgomery St. will host a showcase presented by the Esther F. Garrison School of Visual and Performing Arts.
The event will feature a collection of artwork by the kindergarten through eighth-grade classes.
It will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in the hotel.
