Memorial earns an ‘A’ for patient safety

Memorial University Medical Center received an “A” Hospital Safety ScoreSM by The Leapfrog Group, an independent organization formed to give the public information they can use to protect themselves and their families.

The Hospital Safety Score was calculated using publicly available data on patient injuries, medical and medication errors, and infections.

“Ensuring the safety of our patients is a top priority every day. We host an annual safety fair for our team members, we use electronic safeguards to prevent medication errors and we require many hours of annual training and education,” said Maggie Gill, president and CEO of Memorial Health.
