Visit Savannah, Georgia partners sell to world

Representatives from Visit Savannah, along with other members of the Georgia tourism industry, will attend International Pow Wow Saturday through Wednesday in Las Vegas.

International Pow Wow, produced by the U.S. Travel Association, is the tourism industry’s largest generator of sales leads between the domestic travel industry and international buyers.

Joe Marinelli, president of Visit Savannah, and Mindy Shea, Visit Savannah’s director of international sales, along with representatives from the Georgia Tourism office and the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, will meet with more than 250 travel buyers focused on international leisure and group travel.

“Our goal is quite simple: to leverage the value of being with our strategic partners from the Atlanta CVB and the Georgia Tourism office to continue to expose Savannah to travel buyers from around the world,” said Marinelli.

More than 1,000 U.S. travel organizations and 1,500 international buyers from more than 70 countries will attend the Pow Wow.

International travelers represent 7-9 percent of overall visits to Savannah, with top feeder markets being Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and France.
