Group donates $30,000 to The Children's Hospital at Memorial

A group of young leaders from Georgia’s insurance industry has donated more than $30,000 to The Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. The donation has been channeled through The Next Generation, a volunteer group founded in support of The Children’s hospital.

Each year, the insurance industry’s Georgia Young Agents Committee hosts a charity golf tournament to raise money for a cause or organization selected by the committee’s chair.

Savannah native Brooks Zeigler, the 2013 chairman and an agent for Morris and Templeton Insurance Co., chose The Next Generation as this year’s recipient.

“There is nothing worse in the world than having a sick child. As a father of three boys, I could think of no better charity to partner with than The Next Generation,” Zeigler said. “I have met and am friends with many of the board members, as well as the founders, and I am fully confident in their integrity and ability to act as good stewards of this donation.”

The Next Generation includes young professionals, neighbors, parents and others who donate their time, talents and financial resources to patients at The Children’s Hospital and their families.
