Metro Savannah gas prices dip slightly
Average retail gasoline prices in Savannah have fallen 0.4 cents a gallon in the past week to $3.54 a gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 262 gas outlets in Savannah.
The national average has increased 3.2 cents a gallon in the last week to $3.68, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Prices Sunday were 26.4 cents a gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 16.1 cents a gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 9.9 cents a gallon during the last month and stands 19.0 cents higher than this day one year ago.
“While the worst may be behind us, I do believe the week ahead will likely feature another rise in the national average,” said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.
Management company hired for apartments
Jamestown, the company developing One West Victory Apartments at Victory Drive and Bull Street have hired Greystar Student Living to manage the student-focused development.
The property once housed the old Savannah Ice Factory. The new 114-unit project includes the renovation of two late 19th-century structures and construction of one new building.

Junior League looks for community partners
The Junior League of Savannah is accepting applications for Golden Isles Community Projects. The League is looking to find community partners that will align with its focus on women and children.
Community partners are organizations that partner with the Junior League and receive funding and volunteers for community projects within the organization.
Currently, the Junior League focuses its efforts on women and children’s advocacy.

Christian businessmen’s conference scheduled
Businessmen in the Savannah area are invited to attend the second annual Christian Business Men’s Conference from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Aug. 23.
The event at the Savannah Christian Education building at 50 Al Henderson Blvd., will focus on time management skills in the workplace with Joe Marchese of Marchese construction as the featured speaker. The conference is being held in conjunction with the third annual Pivot Rally at the Savannah Civic Center on Aug. 23.
The conference will include two main sessions and two breakout sessions led by 10 local business leaders. Tickets are free and include afternoon coffee and refreshments.
