Savannah gets high ‘friendly’ rating

Readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine have chosen Savannah as the third friendliest city in America and the 16th friendliest city in the world in its 2013 survey of the top ten friendliest and unfriendliest cities in America. Of the top ten, all but three are cities in the South. The unfriendliest city in the country: Newark, N.J.

As for Savannah, the magazine said the following:

The oldest city in Georgia, Savannah combines a “very friendly atmosphere” with “lovely places to stay and eat” and “lots of museums that beg to be explored.” Its “warm” local vibe spurred one visitor to rave, “If you want to feel like you are returning home after being away for some time, this is the city to visit.” Simply put, “you can’t have a bad time in Savannah.”
