JAMES WILBURN

Duties: Wilburn serves as the division’s liaison for military personnel and works to identify programs beneficial to the career advancement of military members, veterans and their family members.
Related work experience: Wilburn retired from the U.S. Army at the rank of lieutenant colonel. He most recently served as deputy director of aviation operations at Shaw Air Force Base and was the program director and a professor of military science at Vanderbilt University. He also has served as a course director, operations officer, and instructor at West Point.
Education: Wilburn holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering, a master’s in management, as well as applied sport science/exercise physiology, and an Ed.D. in higher education leadership and policy from Vanderbilt University.
DAYNA L. CALDWELL

Company: Left Bank Art Gallery
Duties: Caldwell will plan and implement exhibitions, lectures, panels, workshops and publications while enhancing the national and international reputation of the Left Bank Art Gallery and Mildred Huie Museum.
Related work experience: Caldwell has been with the company since 2011, starting out as curator of the museum and associate at the gallery.
Education: Caldwell received a bachelor of arts degree in history and French from Michigan State University. She earned a master of arts in art history from SCAD in June 2013.

Savannah man named to board
The executive committee of The Small Business Assistance Corporation’s board of directors announced a new committee member. Ryan Schneider of PIER Commercial Real Estate was in attendance at the July 24 meeting. Schneider has served on the Board of SBAC since 2011.
Savannah woman honored
The James Beard Foundation has announced Cynthia Hayes of Southeastern African-American Farmers Organic Network is among recipients of the third annual James Beard Foundation Leadership Awards. Hayes will be honored at an Oct. 21 ceremony and dinner during the fourth annual James Beard Foundation Food Conference in New York City.
Orthodontist elected to council
Dr. Robert A. Vaught has been elected to the executive council of The College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. Vaught, who practices in Savannah and Richmond Hill, will represent his board-certified colleagues from the Southern Association of Orthodontists.
Rotary club honors hotel employee
The Savannah Sunrise Rotary Club recently honored Mulberry Inn’s Cheryl Mikell as an honorary member. Mikell has been working with club members for the past two years.
City Manager receives designation
Brian L. Johnson, the city manager of Garden City, has received the credentialed manager designation from the International City/County Management Association.
Johnson becomes one of 1,280 local government management professionals worldwide who are credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program. He is one of only 43 credentialed managers in Georgia.
