Kroger launches 2013 ‘Can Hunger’ campaign

Kroger stores are partnering with local food banks, including Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, to help raise money for nonperishable items during the holiday season.

Through Kroger’s ‘Can Hunter’ campaign, customers can buy $1, $3 or $5 icons to help provide food for area families in need. All donations collected in the Savannah area will benefit America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia.

“Over the years, the Can Hunger campaign has helped supply food banks with countless meals for the communities we serve,” said Kroger spokesman Glynn Jenkins. “Even a small donation can make a large impact in feeding those who are less fortunate.”

The campaign will run from today through Christmas Eve.
