Savannah woman honored
Debra Franklin Cannon, director of the Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality Administration in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University and a native of Savannah, received two hospitality industry awards earlier this month. She received the Georgia Restaurant Association’s Distinguished Service Award and was inducted into the Atlanta Hospitality Hall of Fame by the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Gov. Nathan Deal recently presented Armstrong Atlantic State University’s Chief of Police Wayne R. Willcox with a 2013 Governor’s Public Safety Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Profession. Willcox was recognized at a ceremony held at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth on Dec. 12.
