Pooler chamber gives annual honors

Pooler Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, Inc. presented several special award winners at its annual meeting last week.

At its awards luncheon at the Savannah Quarters Golf Club in Pooler, the Pooler chamber honored Pooler’s Rookie Firefighter of the Year, Simon Vogel; Firefighter of the Year, Michael Fort; Police Officer of the Year, Kimberlie Laff; and Police Supervisor of the Year, Tim Holland.

Pooler Business of the Year honors went to Georgia Heritage Federal Credit Union for its role as a chamber member and financial institution as well as for community outreach.

The chamber named Edward Jones’ Veronica Voisine as its Ambassador of the Year.

Pooler Mayor Mike Lamb spoke during the meeting and praised the chamber for its work since its rebirth in 2008 and the fact that 2013 was another very good year for the chamber.

Seven new board members were elected to fill vacancies. New members are Maurice Jackson, LongHorn Steak House; Noah Yaughn, Arc Media Group; Andrew Clark, The Fiduciary Group; Bobbie Frost, The Paper Clip Office Supply and Printing; Kim Griffin, Money Matter$; Adam Wallace, BJ’s Beverage; and Sherri Moore, H&R Block.
