Taste of Pooler coming Thursday
Restaurants in Pooler and the surrounding area will show what they have to offer at Taste of Pooler and the Westside Thursday, April 10, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Embassy Suites, 145 West Mulberry Blvd., behind Home Depot.
Admission is $15 and includes food samples and non-alcoholic drinks as well as a chance to win door prizes. A cash bar will be available.

Savannah Toastmasters graduates class

Local production company wins ‘Tellys’
The Telly Awards have named Savannah’s Cosmos Mariner Productions the winner of one silver and four bronze awards in the 35th Annual Telly Awards, which drew nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries.
The awards for Cosmos include:
• The Silver Telly for TV Programs, Segments, or Promotional Pieces—Documentary.
• A Bronze Telly for Non-Broadcast Productions—Education (for academic use).
• A Bronze Telly for Internet/Online Commercial—Not-for-profit.
• Two Bronze Tellys for TV Programs, Segments, or Promotional Pieces—Documentary and TV Programs, Segments, or Promotional Pieces—Copywriting.
Filmmaker Michael Jordan is recognized on all four awards; collaborator Nathaniel Nauert is recognized on three.
Hilton Head in TripAdvisor’s top 10 islands
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — TripAdvisor has named Hilton Head Island among the Top 10 Islands in the nation in their 2014 inaugural Traveler’s Choice awards.
It was described as a place that “plays host to prestigious sporting events throughout the year. All of it surrounded by sunny beaches and lush greenery. Choose from a number of first class resorts and hotels to experience it all.”
The Inn at Palmetto Bluff was another TripAdvisor winner. Its Top 25 Hotels in the U.S. list featured the resort as “heaven on earth.’
