Law firm adds office in Augusta
The Savannah-based law firm Brennan & Wasden LLC is expanding its medical and professional negligence practice with the addition of three attorneys and the opening of an office in Augusta.
Augusta attorneys James V. Painter, F. Michael Taylor and Amanda D. Lynde, formerly with Hull Barrett PC, are joining Brennan & Wasden. Painter joins as a partner, and the firm will now operate as Brennan, Wasden & Painter, LLC.
The new partnership will employ 32 attorneys and support staff in Savannah and Augusta.
Leadership Savannah graduate program set for April 22
Leadership Savannah will host a graduate program at the Roebling House on Skidaway Island Tuesday, April 22, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The cost is $25 for anyone who hasn’t already paid for the year.
The program will feature Jim Sanders, executive director of the UGA Skidaway Institute of Oceanography, who will examine issues that will face the world’s ocean and the Georgia coastline over the coming decades, including sea level rise, ocean acidification and chronic pollution.
He also will provide a summary of the mission and focus of the institute and highlight its efforts to better understand the coastal ocean.

Hilton Head chamber contender for award
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce has been selected to compete once again for the National Chamber of the Year award., which it won in 2000 and 2006. The chamber was also named a finalist for the award in 2010 and 2012.
A review panel of industry experts and past winners review chamber programs, financial efficiency and member retention and satisfaction. The panel then selects three finalists that undergo personal interviews to determine the best chamber in the nation.
The award recognizes excellence in operations, member services, and community leadership.
