Kimball Midwest opens distribution center in Savannah
Kimball Midwest, a Columbus-Ohio based MRO Distributor, has bought a warehouse in Savannah to serve as their southeast distribution center, which will allow 95 percent of customers serviced from the location to get next-day delivery of their orders.
“This is a way to service our customers better by providing a regional presence to the Southeast, just like our Dallas and Reno distribution centers have done,” said Steve Good, Kimball Midwest director of operations.
The distribution center and offices, of approximately 142,000 square feet, are expected to open in late 2014. The company will make use of more than 5,500 square feet for office and training space. The location is expected to create an undetermined number of jobs in Savannah, including office and warehouse positions.
