General and construction OSHA classes scheduled

Georgia Tech, an OSHA Training Institute Education Center, is bringing its occupational safety and health program to the coastal region with two courses: Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction Industry (OSHA 510) and Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry (OSHA 511).

The courses are targeted for entry-level or early safety and health professionals, individuals serving on a safety committee, human resources professionals and supervisors who oversee safety and health-related topics in the workplace.

Thecost is $914, and they will be Jan. 12-16 (OSHA 510) and Jan. 20-23 (OSHA 511) on the Georgia Tech-Savannah Campus at 210 Technology Circle.

Georgia Southern sports management degree recognized

STATESBORO — Georgia Southern University’s online master’s degree in sports management was recently ranked number six by the website TopManagementDegrees.com.

The website said the ranking was designed to help prospective students make a smart choice about where to invest their time and money while earning their degree and also to find quality educational opportunities.

“Honors such as the number six ranking from TopManagementDegrees.com and similar rankings from other publications provide validation for the decision to move our master’s program online,” said Professor Christopher Barnhill.

The 36-credit, online program was designed to provide academic preparation and practical experience in the skills and techniques of the sport business and leisure field.

Hilton Head resorts get ‘gold crown’ designation

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Four Hilton Head Island resorts — Coral Reef Resort, Coral Sands Resort, Island Links Resort and Port O’Call — collectively referred to as the Coral Resorts family of properties, has won the RCI Gold Crown Resort designation by RCI, a vacation exchange organization.
