BankSouth has announced its Savannah branch at 18 W. Bryant St. on Johnson Square is now open.
Laura Moore, the Savannah market president, and Kay Ford, chairman of the bank’s local advisory board are leading the operation.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening event took place Monday evening with Alderman Carol Bell, Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce officials and other business partners.
“Our team has been carefully selected to be made up of some of the best banking professionals in our area. We are so excited to be a part of BankSouth and to bring relationship banking back to Savannah,” Moore said.
Earlier this week, ICBA Independent Banker magazine named BankSouth as one of the top 20 community banks in the nation for the third year in a row.
“Our team is dedicated to quality and excellence for the benefit of our customers, and it is an honor to receive this recognition,” said Harold Reynolds, CEO and chairman of BankSouth. “We are excited to bring this same level of service to the Savannah community.”
BankSouth, founded in 1946, has headquarters at Lake Oconee with $400 million in assets and serves the Athens, Atlanta and Savannah areas.
