Coldwell Banker Platinum Partners recognized

Coldwell Banker Platinum Partners was honored for its performance during the past year with a Five Star Award from the Cartus Broker Network during the organization’s 2015 international conference in Palm Desert, Calif.

Cartus works with companies around the world on relocating employees.

The awarded presented to Coldwell Banker Platinum Partners recognizes brokers who have met or exceeded their individual objectives for outgoing broker-to-broker referral closings during the year.

“We are extremely happy to join the list of Cartus Broker Network members from around the country who have contributed to the broker-to-broker referral results,” said Connie Farmer Ray, CEO and broker with Coldwell Banker Platinum Partners.

Bar bystander training scheduled

The Rape Crisis Center of the Coastal Empire will present session one of Bar Bystander Training: Safe Bars against Sexual Violence from 10:30 a.m. to noon June 1 in the Rebel Room at Johnnie Ganem’s Winery and Package Store, 501 Habersham St.

The training is open to all establishments that serve or sell alcohol.

The purpose of Bar Bystander Training is to provide all bar, club and restaurant staff with the skills to recognize and appropriately intervene in potential sexual assaults. This is the first phase in earning the Safe Bar Designation.

Georgia Southern online MBA among Top 50

STATESBORO — Value Colleges has ranked the Georgia WebMBA, which includes the Georgia Southern Online MBA program, 14th among the 2015 Top 50 Best Value Online MBA Programs.

“Valuecolleges.com guides students to the most trustworthy programs with the lowest student debt and highest returns with its fully researched rankings and FAQs,” said Carrie Sealey-Morris, editor of Value Colleges.

Georgia Southern’s online MBA has been offered since 2001. The 30-credit hour program is completed in five semesters and takes about 21 months.

Two students win Georgia Heritage FCU scholarships

Georgia Heritage FCU has named the recipients of two college scholarship awards for 2015. A $2,000 scholarship will go to St. Vincent’s Academy senior Madison Loftin, daughter of Natalie Loftin of Savannah. Madison will attend the University of Notre Dame where she will major in pre-med.

Kendra T. Lonon of Eden, Ga., will receive the $1,000 continuing education scholarship. A graduate of A.E. Beach High School, Kendra is enrolled in Liberty University.

Each year, Georgia Heritage FCU offers college scholarships to one graduating high school senior and one student currently enrolled in or accepted to a college.
