Colony Bank has named Robert Drew Hulsey Jr. as its new Savannah market president.
Hulsey will succeed the late Tommy Hester who died in April after a short illness.
Hulsey, who has 30 years of experience in the banking industry, served as CEO of Piedmont Community Bank in Gray, Ga., from 2003 to 2011.
Previously he was a regional business banking manager for First Liberty Bank and BB&T. He began his banking career with Citizens & Southern Bank in Savannah in 1985.
Hulsey is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and the School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He has served on the boards of the Georgia Community Bankers’ Association, Central Georgia Boy Scouts of America Advisory Board, Medical Center of Central Georgia Medcen Foundation and the Newland Family Foundation.
“Savannah is a very dynamic community that we are very pleased to be a member of and serve. Drew Hulsey was the first person Tommy Hester brought on board to help him put together this experienced banking team,” said Lee Northcutt, executive vice president and regional executive officer who oversees Colony’s business operations east of the Interstate 75 corridor.
“With Drew’s leadership and vision, this team will continue to fulfill Tommy’s dream of being the best bank in Savannah” Northcutt said.
