Foreclosure rates in Savannah decrease
Foreclosure rates in Savannah decreased for the month of December over the same period last year, according to newly released data from financial data reporting firm CoreLogic.
The CoreLogic data reveals the rate of Savannah area foreclosures among outstanding mortgage loans was 1.34 percent for the month of December 2012, a decrease of 0.31 percentage points compared to December of 2011 when the rate was 1.65 percent. Foreclosure activity in Savannah was lower than the national foreclosure rate, which was 2.96 percent for December 2012.
Also in Savannah, the mortgage delinquency rate decreased. According to CoreLogic data for December 2012, 5.68 percent of mortgage loans were 90 days or more delinquent compared to 6.24 percent for the same period last year, representing a decrease of 0.56 percentage points.
Savannah to host labor management conference
The 24th annual Georgia Labor Management Conference is set for Savannah from June 19 to June 21.
The conference at the Savannah Riverfront Marriott will be co-sponsored by the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service and the Atlanta Chapter of the Labor and Employment Relations Association.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed is the invited keynote speaker.
Topics scheduled for discussion include the effects of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act on employers and workers, as well as the formation of a new federal health care exchange for Georgia, which is supposed to begin enrollment in 2013 before activating at the start of 2014.

Savannah Fashion Week 2013 coming in April
Tickets are on sale for Savannah Fashion Week’s 2013 Fashion Runway Show organized by the city’s independent boutique retailers.
Part of the proceeds from Savannah Fashion Week 2013 ticket sales will benefit Union Mission’s Magdalene Project, which provides shelter for up to 65 women and children who are victims of violence and abuse.
This year’s participating retailers include Bleu Belle Boutique, Custard Boutique, Fabrika Fine Fabrics, J. Paige, Palm Avenue, Red Clover, Sara Jane Children’s Boutique, Satchel, Terra Cotta, Trunk 13 Boutique, and Zia Boutique.
Savannah Fashion Week special event details will be announced in early March.
The fashion week’s runway show will be held Thursday, April 25, at 7:30 in the Lucas Theatre, 32 Abercorn St.
Tickets are $30 for Tier 1 seating, $40 for Tier 2 seating and $55 for Tier 3 seating.
