Duties: Bartell will help clients find homes.

Related work experience: Bartell has been a Realtor since 2012.

CAROLYN PERRY

New job title: Program director, Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing

Company: Georgia Tech Savannah

Duties: Perry will continue the center’s outreach efforts to improve science education in coastal Georgia and South Carolina.

Related work experience: Perry is an adjunct professor in the School of Education at Armstrong Atlantic State University and taught for the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System for five years. She is certified in 15 fields, including special education.

Education: Perry holds a B.A. and M.Ed. in education from the University of Florida, and an Ed.D. in curriculum and instruction from Georgia Southern University.

MICHAEL GADSDEN

New job title: Victim advocate, Major Crimes Division

Company: Chatham County District Attorney’s Office

Duties: Gadsden will be assigned to Superior Court Judge Michael Karpf’s Major Crime Division Team, where he will serve as a victim advocate.

Related work experience: Gadsden has been a chaplain with Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department since 2004 and has assisted victims and witnesses at crime scenes. Gadsden has also been charged with next of kin notifications, as well as with contacting and consoling victims of violent crimes.

Education: Gadsden received his Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Morris College in Sumter, S.C., and his master’s degree in counseling from Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville.

NANCY BEVILL

New job title: Commercial lines account manager

Company: Bernard Williams Insurance and Financial Services

Duties: Bevill will assist senior commercial lines producers and service existing accounts.

Related work experience: Bevill worked at Palmer & Cay as a personal lines account manager. She also held positions at Lee, Hill & Rowe Insurors, Padgett Insurance Agency and Wells Fargo Insurance Services.

Education: Bevill attended Open Bible College.

LAUREN GRIFFIN

New job title: Graphic designer

Company: Joselove-Filson Advertising Inc.

Duties: Griffin will work within all aspects of graphic design and art direction.

Related work experience: Griffin worked as a freelance graphic designer, assisting small businesses and nonprofits with their graphic design needs.

Education: Griffin holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design, with a minor in advertising.

CHERYL SCOTT

New job title: Office administrator

Company: United Web Works Inc.

Duties: Scott will oversee the company’s accounting functions and assume other general office and client care duties.

Related work experience: Scott has several years of experience in customer service, luxury sales and office administration.

Education: Scott graduated from California State University, Sonoma with a bachelor’s degree in economics.

BRITTANY KELLY

New job title: State court trial team admin

Company: Chatham County District Attorney’s Office

Duties: Kelly will handle administration duties for Judge Coolidge’s State Court Trial Team.

Related work experience: She held positions with Gulfstream Aerospace and Schneider Logistics.

Education: Kelly is pursuing paralegal studies at Savannah Technical College.

SUSAN DOBER

New job title: Director of training and development

Company: Great Dane

Duties: Dober is responsible for the development and coordination of training programs for employees throughout the organization.

Related work experience: Dober brings more than 20 years of training and organizational development experience including corporate team leader, Organizational Effectiveness Services Center at International Paper and several years with Union Camp as manager, organizational development for its Kraft Paper & Board Division.

Education: Dober holds a master’s degree in human resource development from Webster University in St. Louis.

Lawyer named to international group

Hunter-Maclean partner Dennis Keene was recently named chair of the ALFA International Product Liability Practice Group. The ALFA International Product Liability Practice Group provides legal counsel to product manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers.

SCAD student honored

Kai-ning Huang, M.F.A. furniture design student at the Savannah College of Art and Design, has won the Bernice Bienenstock Furniture Library 2013 Furniture Design Competition for her design, “Delta Chair.” Huang earned a $10,000 scholarship and a one-year membership to the American Society of Furniture Designers.

Lawyer named as representative

John Manly at Bouhan Falligant LLP has been named a Savannah city rep for the second annual Legal Food Frenzy by the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia. Manly will recruit firms to compete to raise food and funds for Second Harvest Food Bank during a two-week competition in April.

Wesley Community Center names board

Wesley Community Centers of Savannah Inc. has welcomed three new members to its board of directors. New members are:

• Ben Herron, police captain for the city of Savannah

• James Gardner, owner, Upscale Images

• Beth Wells, human resources director at the Hyatt Regency Savannah

YMCA recognizes volunteers

The YMCA of Coastal Georgia recently recognized a number of volunteers for their outstanding achievements at its annual meeting. Those recognized were:

• Joey Burel, Volunteer of the Year Award

• Carolyn Smith, Volunteer of the Year Award

• Roxy Hogan, Volunteer of the Year Award

• Isaac LaRoche, The Robert H. Demere Award

• Dede Roberts, Presidential Staff Service Award

• Rachel Meuser Bowman, Presidential Staff Service Award

Hotel recognized

Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Airport won four awards from the Georgia Hotel and Lodging Association at its annual Stars of the Lodging Luncheon in Atlanta earlier this month. The hotel won two individual awards and two property awards. The hotel also won Best Guest Relations and Best Community Service.
