Weyerhaeuser, United Way gather diapers

United Way of the Coastal Empire and Weyerhaeuser have partnered to provide 13,400 diapers for families in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties.

Weyerhaeuser, through its “Operation Diaper Drive,” will deliver the diapers on Monday at 2 p.m. at the United Way office, 428 Bull St.

“Diapers are a basic need for babies and toddlers,” said Trudy Jones, United Way 2-1-1 director.

United Way will distribute the diapers to local nonprofit organizations that have a diaper distribution program in place.

Georgia Southern offers Lowcountry degrees

STATESBORO — Georgia Southern University invites Bluffton and Hilton Head Island area professionals to learn how they can earn a master of business administration degree while attending classes in Savannah and pay in-state tuition.

A drop-in, MBA information session will be held from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1575 Fording Island Road.

MBA advisors from the College of Business Administration will be available to answer questions.

Savannah Tech sponsors celebration of young child

HINESVILLE – Learning in the early years is the theme for the sixth annual Celebration of the Young Child event to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at the Liberty Campus of Savannah Technical College on Airport Road in Hinesville.

The event will include free food, prize giveaways and more. It will be held outdoors on the campus and will feature information and exhibits from community partners and service organizations.

Craft, food vendors sought for Asian festival

The city of Savannah’s Cultural Affairs Department is seeking marketplace craft vendors and food vendors for the 2013 Asian Festival at the Savannah Civic Center from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 22

Food vendors must have a Chatham County temporary health permit and insurance and understand food regulations and guidelines. Temporary food permits are $60. Booths for food vendors and marketplace craft vendors are $85.

Apply to Erin Seals, Department of Cultural Affairs, 9 W. Henry St. Food vendors must submit a temporary food packet and a $60 fee to the Chatham County Health Department, 1395 Eisenhower Drive. Applications are due by May 22.
