Gas prices drop again in metro Savannah
Average retail gasoline prices in Savannah have fallen 6.2 cents a gallon in the past week to $3.47 a gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 262 gas outlets in Savannah.
The national average has fallen 4.0 cents a gallon in the last week to $3.58, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Prices Sunday were 40.5 cents a gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 18.0 cents a gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 9.3 cents a gallon during the last month and stands 32.8 cents lower than this day one year ago.
“Americans are spending $108 million less on gasoline every day than they were a year ago,” said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. “Prices in nearly all metropolitian statistical areas are lower today than a year ago.”
Coffees set to discuss leadership program
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce will host two informational coffees for anyone interested in learning more about Leadership Hilton Head Island-Bluffton, an in-depth educational program that runs from September through June and meets one full day each month.
The Leadership Board of Regents will answer questions about the 25-year-old program that focuses on the culture, history, environment, economics and civics of the area.
The Thursday coffee will meet at the chamber’s Bluffton office, 216 Bluffton Road from 9-10:30 a.m. The April 25 coffee is scheduled at chamber headquarters on Hilton Head Island from 9-10:30 a.m.

Class selection is based on a written application and a personal interview. Applicants must have lived or worked in the area for a minimum of one year. Deadline for the written application and three reference forms is Friday, May 24.
Georgia Southern to host luncheon
STATESBORO — Georgia Southern University’s Division of Continuing Education will host an administrative professionals day luncheon in Savannah from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 24 at the Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm St. Tickets cost $38; the last day to register is April 17.
The program includes exhibits from vendors, lunch and a keynote address by Linda M. Bleicken, president of Armstrong Atlantic State University.
