Exchange in brief

Savannah business to invest $15 million outside of Atlanta

The city of Stockbridge has approved Savannah-based Community Broadband LLC to facilitate the development of a $15 million fiber optic network.

The state-of-the-art network will stretch 206 miles and will provide the area with broadband capacity 100 times faster than most traditional connections.

The project was approved unanimously Monday night by Stockbridge’s City Council and will require no capital investment from the city itself.

The network is expected to impact more than 5,000 businesses and provide the area’s public schools with a much-needed upgrade.

New Location for iPhone repair

Savannahians now have more options for spurring new life into their nonfunctional iDevices with the opening of the new downtown location of Savannah iDoctors.

Owners of Savannah iDoctors Allison and Eric Mol recently opened a store on Wilmington Island and believe the new store across from the Lucas Theater will provide SCAD students and other residents with a more convenient location for computer and iDevice repair.

In addition to offering repairs, the new location will also house a variety of iDevice accessories.
