KELLY HOFFMAN

Duties: Hoffman will work with the Construction Division, facilitating accounting on various construction projects.
Related work experience: Hoffman comes to J.T. Turner Construction with a history as a mortgage lender at First Citizens Bank and Colony Bank.
Education: Hoffman graduated in 2001 from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in public relations.
CATHERINE KEEN

Duties: Keen will work with the director of construction and the Construction Division.
Related work experience: Keen recently worked with Ernest Homes LLC as a residential designer and owned her own company Catherine Keen Designs LLC for 12 years.
Education: Keen graduated from Daytona Beach Community College in 1984 with an AS degree in graphic arts and a minor in photography.
JANET MANCHESTER

CHRISTINA CAVAGE

Company: Savannah Technical College
Duties: Cavage is responsible for managing initiatives related to all programs, courses and instructional services including community, high school and college programs. She will also lead and supervise the Student Enrichment Center, English for Speakers of Other Languages program, and the student tutoring program.
Related work experience: Cavage joins Savannah Tech with more than two decades of English as a Second Language experience in higher education. Cavage worked as an English as a Second Language professor for Savannah College of Art and Design and as an associate professor of ESL and the chairperson for the ESL, modern languages at Atlantic Cape Community College.
Education: Cavage holds a Bachelors of Arts in liberal arts/Spanish and a Master of Arts in applied linguistics/TESOL from West Virginia University.

VIC BURKE

Duties: Burke is responsible for planning, administering and evaluating institutional services, which include facilities management, building and grounds maintenance, campus police and security, and information technology services.
Related work experience: Previously, Burke was the division chair of Savannah Tech’s criminal justice and fire science programs. Also, he has worked as Savannah Tech’s department chair of the law enforcement degree program and the director of public safety and facilities.
Education: Burke holds a doctorate of public administration from Valdosta State University and a master’s in public administration from Georgia Southern University.

Horizons Savannah announces that its board president, Tom Oxnard, has received the Horizons Hero Award from Horizons National. The award was presented at a special ceremony in Norwalk, Conn., on April 12. This award honors the work Oxnard has put into Horizons Savannah for nearly 10 years, as well as his commitment and dedication to the students and the organization.

Local attorney Rob Brannen, a partner with Bouhan Falligant, was elected vice president of the Georgia Bar Association Real Property Law Section at the Real Property Law Institute held May 9.
Accountant appointed to commission
Boyd Collar Nolen & Tuggle LLC has announced the appointment of its partner Kathleen “Katie” B. Connell to the Georgia Commission on Child Support. Connell was appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal to serve on the commission for a four-year term, beginning May 1.
St. Joseph’s/Candler names Board of Trustees
Sister Helen Marie Buttimer, RSM, and John W. Odom, M.D., are the newest members of the St. Joseph’s/Candler Board of Trustees. Sr. Helen Marie Buttimer, RSM, is a Savannah native and the immediate past principal of St. Vincent’s Academy.
John W. Odom, M.D., is a general surgeon with Metro Surgical, PC. He is the immediate past chief of staff for Candler Hospital.
Doctor honored
Dr. Ben Spitalnick was presented the President’s Award at the 2013 Night of Champions by the Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society on May 9. Spitalnick is managing partner of Pediatric Associates of Savannah and serves as representative for the Savannah area to the American Academy of Pediatrics.
